Offset vs Digitaldruck
Offset und Digitaldruck
Offsetprinting:
- In offset printing, the image is first transferred onto a plate, then onto a rubber surface, and finally onto the printing material (often paper).
- It is ideal for large print jobs with high volume, as setup costs are high but unit costs decrease with larger volumes.
- Quality and color accuracy are very high, as it allows for a wide range of colors and special effects.
- Suitable for high-quality products such as brochures, books, magazines, and packaging.
Digitalprinting:
- In digital printing, the image is directly transferred from a computer to the printing material, without the need for printing plates.
- It is well-suited for smaller print jobs or personalized prints, as no setup time is required.
- Unit costs are often higher compared to offset printing for small print runs, but there are no additional setup costs.
- The quality is good, but not quite as high as offset printing, especially for very large print runs or specific color requirements.
