Why Choose an LP Sleeve with a 3 mm Spine?

An LP sleeve with a spine provides greater stability than a flat sleeve and gives your release a particularly professional appearance. The spine also makes the record easier to identify when stored alongside other vinyl records.

Benefits of a Vinyl Sleeve with a Spine

  • Durable and high-quality packaging
  • Easy identification in a record collection
  • Additional space for titles and catalogue numbers
  • Generous area for custom artwork
  • Suitable for professional music releases
  • Ideal for retail sales and artist merchandise

The sleeve combines protection, design and presentation in one complete product. This allows you to press your own vinyl record and present it in packaging that matches your music and visual identity.

Professional DMM Cutting for Vinyl Record Manufacturing

One of the most important stages of professional vinyl record manufacturing is cutting the master. For our vinyl productions, we use DMM cutting. DMM stands for “Direct Metal Mastering”.

During the DMM process, the audio signal is cut directly into a specially coated copper disc. Unlike traditional lacquer cutting, this process removes an additional production stage and allows the music to be transferred into the groove structure with a high degree of precision.

What Are the Benefits of DMM Cutting?

  • Precise transfer of the audio signal
  • Clear and detailed sound reproduction
  • Well-defined high frequencies and transients
  • Low surface noise
  • Consistent quality throughout the pressing run
  • A professional foundation for vinyl record pressing

The finished DMM master is used as the basis for producing the metal stampers. These stampers are then used to press your vinyl records with consistent quality throughout the production run.

Which Audio Formats Are Required for Vinyl Manufacturing?

For your vinyl production, we require high-quality audio files in the following formats:

Accepted Audio Formats for Vinyl Pressing

  • File format: WAV or AIFF
  • Bit depth: 16, 24 or 32 bit
  • Sample rate: 44.1 / 48 / 88.2 / 96 / 176.4 or 192 kHz

The highest possible resolution is not always necessary. In many cases, properly prepared WAV files at 16 bit and 44.1 kHz are already completely sufficient.

The most important requirement is that your files have been exported correctly and are suitable for vinyl production. After placing your order, you will receive detailed instructions containing all the information needed to prepare your vinyl master correctly.

Custom Vinyl Pressing with Colours and Special Effects

In addition to classic black vinyl, your records can be manufactured in a variety of colours or with special visual effects. This allows you to match the appearance of your vinyl to your artwork, album concept or brand.

Available Vinyl Colours and Special Designs

  • Splatter effects
  • Marble designs
  • Transparent vinyl options
  • Custom colour combinations
  • Additional special design options

Not all available special effects are displayed directly on the product page. For specific colour requests or custom designs, please contact us. We will check which options are technically possible for your selected pressing quantity.

Please note that splatter effects, marble designs and custom colour mixtures may vary slightly from one record to another. These production-related variations make every vinyl record visually unique.

Vinyl Pressing Prices for a 12-Inch LP with a 3 mm Spine

Our vinyl pressing prices depend on the required quantity, playing time, vinyl colour, packaging and selected additional options.

Which Factors Affect the Vinyl Pressing Price?

  • Number of vinyl records required
  • Black, coloured or transparent vinyl
  • Splatter, marble or other special effects
  • Additional printed materials and inserts
  • Special finishing or assembly requirements

On the product page, you can select your preferred configuration and calculate the cost of your custom vinyl production.

Can I Press a Single Vinyl Record?

Many musicians, labels and vinyl enthusiasts are looking for a way to press a single vinyl record or order a one-off custom vinyl record.

Traditional vinyl pressing involves several technical production stages. These include DMM cutting, manufacturing the metal stampers, setting up the pressing machines and completing quality control. For this reason, traditional vinyl pressing is primarily designed for production runs.

Whether a single record or a very small quantity is possible depends on the selected product and manufacturing process. Send us your project details and we will check which production option is most suitable.
