Vinyl Pressing Without Packaging – Records for Custom Sleeves and Special Projects
Would you like to press your own vinyl records but do not require a printed outer sleeve? With this product option, you receive professionally pressed vinyl records without custom-printed outer packaging.
Vinyl pressing without packaging is ideal if you already have your own sleeves, want to produce the packaging yourself or are planning a custom presentation. As a professional vinyl pressing plant, we handle the technical manufacturing process from DMM cutting through to the finished vinyl pressing.
Press Vinyl Records Without a Custom-Printed Outer Sleeve
With this option, we focus entirely on the professional production of your vinyl records. You select the record format, pressing quantity, vinyl colour and any available special effects. You can then organise and design the outer packaging independently.
This gives you maximum flexibility during the final assembly process. You can combine the finished records with self-designed sleeves, handmade packaging or existing record covers.
When you simply want to press a vinyl record and arrange the packaging separately, this is a flexible solution for your project.

Professional DMM Cutting for Your Vinyl Production
Cutting the vinyl master is an essential stage of professional vinyl record manufacturing, even when no printed packaging is required. We use DMM cutting for our vinyl production. DMM stands for “Direct Metal Mastering”.
During the DMM process, the audio signal is cut directly into a specially coated copper disc. Unlike traditional lacquer cutting, this method removes an additional production stage and allows the audio signal to be transferred into the groove structure with a high degree of precision.
What Are the Benefits of DMM Cutting?
- Precise transfer of the audio signal
- Clear and detailed sound reproduction
- Well-defined high frequencies and transients
- Low surface noise
- Consistent quality throughout the pressing run
- A professional foundation for vinyl record pressing
The finished DMM master is used as the basis for manufacturing the metal stampers. These stampers are then used to press your vinyl records.
Which Audio Formats Are Required for Vinyl Manufacturing?
For your vinyl production, we require high-quality audio files in the following formats:
Accepted Audio Formats for the Vinyl Master
- File format: WAV or AIFF
- Bit depth: 16, 24 or 32 bit
- Sample rate: 44.1 / 48 / 88.2 / 96 / 176.4 or 192 kHz
The highest possible resolution is not always necessary. In many cases, correctly exported WAV files at 16 bit and 44.1 kHz are already completely sufficient.
There is no need to artificially increase the bit depth or sample rate. Ideally, you should provide your audio files in the original resolution of the final master.
After placing your order, you will receive detailed instructions containing all the important information required to prepare your vinyl master correctly.

Vinyl Pressing Prices Without Printed Packaging

Which Factors Affect the Vinyl Pressing Price?
- Number of vinyl records required
- Selected vinyl format
- Black, coloured or transparent vinyl
- Splatter, marble or other special effects
- Number and design of the centre labels
- Special production or assembly requirements
As this product does not include a custom-printed outer sleeve, it is particularly suitable for projects where packaging already exists or is being manufactured separately.
Can I Press a Single Vinyl Record?
Many musicians, labels and vinyl enthusiasts are looking for a way to press a single vinyl record or order a one-off custom vinyl record.
Traditional vinyl pressing involves several technical production stages. These include DMM cutting, manufacturing the metal stampers, setting up the pressing machines and completing quality control. For this reason, the traditional pressing process is primarily designed for production runs.
Whether a single record or a very small quantity is possible depends on the selected product and manufacturing process. Send us your project details and we will check which production option is most suitable for your release.
